If you want to block a friend on your Xbox console to prevent them from contacting you or seeing your online activities, follow these steps:
Blocking a Friend on Xbox Console:
- Sign in to Your Xbox Account: Turn on your Xbox console and sign in to your Xbox account.
- Open the Friends List: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the Guide menu. Use the left stick or D-pad to navigate to the “Friends & Clubs” tab. Select “Friends List” from the options.
- Find the Friend to Block: Scroll through your friends list and locate the friend you want to block. Highlight their profile and press the “Menu” button (the one with three horizontal lines) on your controller.
- Choose “Block”: In the context menu that appears, select “Block” to confirm that you want to block this friend.
- Confirm the Block: A pop-up window will appear to confirm the action. Select “Block” again to complete the process.
After following these steps, the friend will be blocked on your Xbox console. They won’t be able to see your online status, send you messages, or join your game sessions. Additionally, you won’t receive notifications about their activities either.
Please note that blocking a friend on Xbox doesn’t remove them from your friends list; it only restricts interactions between the two of you. If you wish to remove the friend from your friends list entirely, you can do so separately.
Keep in mind that blocking someone on Xbox doesn’t prevent them from seeing you in games or game leaderboards. Blocking primarily affects communication and interaction within the Xbox Live network. If you encounter any issues or have further concerns, you can also report inappropriate behavior to Xbox Support.
